SaltSpring Kitchen Co. Wins People’s Choice at BC Food & Beverage Rise Awards!

It’s official – Melanie and the team will wake up to the incredible news that SaltSpring Kitchen Co. has won the People’s Choice Award at the BC Food & Beverage Rise Awards! This milestone belongs to all of us – our team, our customers, and our small island community.

While our founder Melanie is in Toronto, leading the charge at the One Of A Kind Show (our biggest event of the year!), the team back on Salt Spring Island is buzzing, juggling holiday orders, our biggest sale of the year over Black Friday, and now this exciting win.

We published this without prior approval, an acceptance speech in our back pocket, knowing she’d be out of town and asleep when the results came in. The whole team is working hard during our busiest few weeks of the year, but we wanted to take a moment and share this news with our fans, and the team first thing in the morning. Working with Melanie and the whole crew is great; they all deserve the love.

Rising Above with People’s Choice

We are beyond grateful to everyone who voted for us, helping us secure this award in an incredible category alongside two amazing brands, Hardbite Chips (shout out to Sweet Ghost Pepper, and Smoked Paprika & Garlic) and Mumgry Nut Butter. Congratulations to them on their nominations. Speaking of peanut butter, we’re thinking: Maybe it’s time for a new jam-pairing challenge. 😉 🥜🍓

This win speaks volumes about our customers’ love and trust for the jams, spreads, and hot sauces we pour our hearts into daily. We fill the jars, but you all fill our hearts.

While we didn’t take home the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award, we want to send a huge congratulations to Binny Boparai-Gill of Farming Karma Fruit Co. for her well-deserved win. Women-led businesses in BC are thriving, and we’re thrilled to be part of this community of innovators and changemakers.

From the bustling floors of our Jam Factory on Salt Spring Island to the lively aisles of our first Costco Roadshow in Victoria and the One Of A Kind Show in Toronto, this award represents years of dedication, creativity, and the joy of sharing flavourful moments with our fans. And speaking of fans, we’ve been loving all the reviews on the online shop this year.
